 Dear brothers and sisters:

Peace to you all! This Friday will be our last event of the semester. I am sure everyone has begun to study intensely for their finals. We hope everyone has reserved enough energy to face all the exams! Yet while you are busy studying, remember that our Lord is watching over us every second. He will always make “a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:19)! Even when we encounter difficulties and setbacks, our Lord will never abandon us. So add oil everyone!!!

This week, we are going to have a special night with a special activity centered on the story of the birth of Jesus. As we all know, in the month of December we have a very, very famous holiday: Christmas! It is a night of cerebration with dinners to eat and gifts to unwrap, but at the same time, we should not forget that this is the special day dedicated to the birth of Jesus Christ, who was born to this world and died for our sins. It is through His blood that we can enter the Kingdom of Heaven. So then, how is it that we know Jesus is the Messiah? What is so special about His birth? We welcome you all to join us in our special activity this Friday to study the birth of Jesus through the Scriptures!

Dear brothers and sisters:

Peace to you all! It seems that time is flying by almost too quickly; we are already half-way through the month of November. Sadly, our events for this semester are coming to a close. Add oil to you all~! We’ll be experiencing a short break as the weekend is coming up! This week, we will be focusing on a topic that is aimed towards students: studying! Let us discuss and learn from God’s words on how to trust and rely on Him in our studies. At the same time, we invite you all to join us in our Worship Night next week! Let us share the worship songs which have touched our hearts in the past, and encourage each other in Christ! Good luck on studying everything~~ remember to trust in The Lord!

Last Friday we studied the story of how Jesus was crucified, and through this story we perceived the love He has for us when He willing died for us on the cross. This Friday we will be discussing how we can trust in God in our daily lives; and how we can strengthen our faith in Him and patiently wait upon His will when we encounter difficulties and conflicts during our studies. We welcome everyone to come and join us! Together we can share how God has blessed us abundantly in the past through various occasions!

Friday, November 11, 2011
时间/TIME: 6:00-8:00 pm

Dear brothers and sisters:

As the season of fall hits home, we are seeing flashes of red poppies worn on the coats of many people we encounter. That is right. This Friday is Remembrance Day. On this day we remember those who have made life sacrifices in past wars. We remember them, for without them, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the peace in our society today.  However, at the same time, we should not forget the One who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us; who loved us enough to die for us on the cross. It is through Jesus that we can experience the peace from within our hearts. It is through His pain and sufferings that we are healed.

This Friday, we will continue in the book of John chapters 18 and 19 to learn of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. In these two chapters, we will read in detail how He, the Son of God, was nailed on the cross for us. Why was the crowd so willing to let free of a murderer, yet so willing to crucify Jesus, who had done nothing wrong? He fulfilled the prophesies of the Old Testament, and He gladly laid down His life for our sins. We invite you all to join us in this week’s Bible study so we remember Him, who is the ultimate sacrifice for you and me.

Gospel Seminar:

November 4, 2011

Speaker:Pastor Lee

Friday, November 4, 2011
时间/TIME: 7:00-9:30 pm
地点/LOCATION: Medical Science Auditorium (MS2158)

Dear brothers and sisters:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This is the good news of the Bible and the gospel of Jesus Christ. In order for everyone to receive the gift from God and to understand the gospel better, we have invited Pastor Morley Lee this Friday to talk about a key passage in the Bible (John 3: 1-16), the topic being “The Visitor of Night”.

Pastor Lee has served God for almost half a century since 1963 when he first participated in a university students’ ministry. Up until now, he has served as a senior pastor in the US for 18 years while significantly helping to spread the gospel across Asia through several different Christian organizations. Therefore, we are very blessed that Pastor Lee can come and share about his experience of God in his life and the wonders that he has seen God perform across the globe. Especially for those who are not familiar with Christianity, this will be an excellent opportunity for people to learn about the grace and wisdom of God from someone who is very close to Him.

Friday, October 21, 2011
时间/TIME: 6:00-8:00 pm

Dear brothers and sisters:

Last week, through studying parts of John chapter 6, we saw that Jesus is someone who can perform miracles that only God is capable. However, even before feeding the five thousand with only the five breads and two fishes, why did the people follow him there in the first place? If you don’t remember, it’s because many of them experienced or heard about Jesus’s ability to heal the sick.  In the New Testament, there are many records about the healing ability of Jesus Christ. Yet His healing is not only limited to those who are physically sick, but also extends to all of us whose hearts are burdened by sin and spiritual sickness.

This Friday, we will continue with our Bible study of “Who is Jesus Christ”.  In John chapter 9, we will learn how Jesus fulfilled prophecies of the Old Testament by giving a man who was born blind the ability to see again.  The resulting testimony of the blind man and the reactions of the Pharisees are also important clues for us to see the true purpose of the miracle.  Therefore, we hope you can join us again for this week’s Bible study in order to better trust in Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Friday, October 14, 2011
时间/TIME: 6:00-8:00 pm

Dear brothers and sisters:

During our event last week, we learnt and discussed the topic of “thanksgiving”.  Just like the other nine people who got cured of leprosy but did not return to thank Jesus, we often forget to give glory to God for His blessings. Moreover, we should not only be thankful when we receive what we hope for, but also be thankful when obstacles are placed in our lives because God uses them to build our integrity and faith.

This Friday, we will learn more about who Jesus is through studying a Bible passage in the gospel of John. Why was Jesus able to say to the person that returned to thank him, “your faith has made you well”? Maybe you have heard people say that He is God’s only begotten son, who came to this world to die for our sins, but how do we know that this is true? What has He done that made so many people in history believe in Him? Faith is built up little by little and the miracles that Jesus performed in the Bible serve as a strong basis. Therefore, we welcome you all to come and join this week’s Bible study in order to better trust in Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Sharing – Amazing Grace

October 7, 2011

Friday, October 7, 2011
时间/TIME: 6:00-8:00 pm

Dear brothers and sisters:

Over the past two weeks, our guest speaker Rev. Wong explained to us the creations of God and the credibility of the Holy Bible. Through reading the Bible, we can see that the most important person is Jesus Christ. The Old Testament contains many prophesies about His life and what He was going to accomplish. The New Testament is filled with His teachings and miracles that He performed. Most importantly, because of Jesus’s sacrifice for us, we can re-establish our relationship with God and be free from the punishments of our own sins.

In light of Thanksgiving this weekend, we sincerely welcome you to come and celebrate with us this Friday. We will study parts of the Gospel of Luke and then share some of our own inspirational stories together. In many aspects of our daily life, we often hope that God could somehow intervene, but when He does, not many people will remember to give praise back to Him.  Therefore, let us learn to be more thankful and happy in life through reflecting upon the love that the Lord has shown us, both great and small ~~
